Marvel have announced a release date of November 6th 2015.
Since Empire are reporting this, I assume that's the UK date but it may bow on the same day worldwide. If I were a Marvel geek, I'd know their policy more thoroughly :D

Mr Marvel mentioned Ant-Man this weekend.

http://www.iamrogue.com/news/movie-news ... -more.html

“‘Ant-Man’ is definitely part of Phase Three. Like ‘Iron Man 3,’ it’s certainly set in the Marvel Universe, but it’s also through the lens of Edgar Wright — which is the only reason we’re making the movie…I’ve known Edgar since our first lunch together at Comic-Con in 2004. He asked me what Marvel was doing with ‘Ant-Man’ — we weren’t even a studio then; what a difference eight years makes! It’s very much an ‘Ant-Man’ origin movie from the perspective of Edgar Wright and his co-writer Joe Cornish. It will of course be firmly planted in the MCU, but a different corner than we’ve seen before.”

Edgar showed his test reel when he was guesting at Adam's BUG Special in Leicester Square and various attempts to put it on-line have been thwarted/remedied.

I thought I'd put this link here. It has a couple of hastily capped pictures but the piece is clear to point out that the final design will probably change. It's out there so I guess there's no harm in posting it here.

I saw the footage at the Leicester Square show, I was so surprised when they did :D it was really cool how they used his shrinking powers and I loved the design of the suit. I really can't wait for this film not to mention the possiblities of them using other Antman characters like Wasp or Giant man (Guess what his power is )

You can get a sense of the test footage here and late yesterday, Kevin Feige confirmed that revisions will need to be made to Edgar & Joe's script to bring it in line with the direction the other Avenger characters have gone since the last draft was submitted.

I Am Rogue
Finally, Feige edges into Phase Three, which is set to kick off on November 6, 2015 with Ant-Man. Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World helmer and once-in-a-lifetime filmmaker Edgar Wright has long been set to direct Henry Pym's first onscreen adventure. He wrote the screenplay with Joe Cornish, the writer-director behind Attack the Block.

Feige says that because the project has been development since even before Iron Man hit theaters, “Frankly, now we have to re-write it to put it a little bit more into the [Marvel Cinematic Universe] because it was written before it existed.”

And, of course, a big question is just who will star as size-shifting scientist Henry Pym. “We’ve talked about various names over the past eight years but as you can imagine they keep changing as time goes by," says Feige. "But towards the end of this year, we’ll buckle down and start casting and start refining the script, which is great and which is very Edgar. He has done a great job being incredibly true to the comics but is putting his own spin on it, so we’ll be drawing on multiple mythologies for this one.”

Simon Pegg garnered a flurry of internet activity because he pointed 'at the central character in my dear friend's next movie, because I'm excited for him.', thence undercutting his casting denials by hashtagging iamantman. :)

The headlines says Paul Rudd is to star in Ant-Man as previously rumoured but the piece just says he's in early negotiations. Let's hope they strike a mutually acceptable deal.

Edgar has started his 'photo a day' thing he did during Scott Pilgrim again.

Today's treat is a picture of Joe sitting on the bench outside Disney.....as used by Tom Hanks' bottom.

Dreadfully sad to read that Edgar has had to walk away from directing this film that he's spent so many years writing and developing with Joe.
