it's a bit like when newbies get to know the full form of how Adam & Joe work, the Collins & Herring product does not stand up to literal translation and is never intended thus.
I do find them rather lame together, though they're OK as individuals. I just wish they'd sort the sound quality so that the cod Herring rants don't distort so horribly. They don't really get the subtle difference between talking over each other and making a audio mess, as opposed to the way Torpedo Commander Cornish let's Adam start a little thing before he dives in there with a selection of delicious weapons from his arsenal and the gentle but reluctant way that Adam capitulates. There is a reciprocity to their batonnage that probably comes from the years of knowing each other and their strengths and weaknesses. For all their fun and mockery, they have such a deep routed respect for each other that always percolates through their banter. Adam & Joe really understand how the output sounds, too & I sometimes doubt that Richard & Andrew have any clue at all. Is it just me or do other people feel that once you've heard one C & H podcast you've pretty much got all you can out of them? I always wait with baited breath to see where Adam & Joe are going to take us but C & H seem like the same old same old. Certainly wouldn't bother with every show of theirs.
The whole racist thing sent the twittersphere into a whirl but it's very odd that The Guardian would be the paper to go that route. I got so bored with all the tweets that I didn't bother checking the actual piece, so I should shut up, really.
Adam and Joe really are totally unique and I have been known to go red with embarrassment when I hear others try to go down that route. .......while we're on the subject of podcasts........we
do need to sort out the flagging iTunes situation. I will admit I am not above saving my files outside iTunes, unsubscribing.....then subscribing again, from time to time.
