"I just wish there was a better filing system within Soundcloud"

I've mainly only used Soundcloud as a consumer -- haven't seen the admin backend for a couple of years so not sure what options are available. I know you can create & curate playlists in Soundcloud -- perhaps a playlist for each show? I also have a crappy upload speed which makes trying to put things like video on YouTube take forever - I imagine small mp3 clips aren't as bad, but still slow.

I would actually like to use your archive sound nugget embeds on this site - would that be okay? It would be ace to have a page for each show -- not sure if a A+J Wiki would better suit this... if you need a hand helping to organize the clips let me know.

I can also probably update the phpbb forum so it's easier to include a shortcode that embeds the clips in the forum (like we have for youtube and youtube-audio)

I don't mind you using my nuggets at all but I've currently got my work cut out just finding the time to reinstate my own blog.

In a few weeks, I might be able to put a DVD together with all the clips I've made to post to someone. Would that help? Perhaps someone would like to administer a Soundcloud account and use them. It sounds like you have to tag or allocate to playlists individually after you've uploaded to Soundcloud whereas you file a whole batch when you use 4Shared or Archive.

By the way, I uploaded my nuggets to Archive in the way that would make them easiest to locate for reinstating in each post rather than in a show-based sequence. Nobody would want to unravel that lot!

Hi All,

I'm looking for downloads to the full radio broadcasts of Adam's Big Mix Tape. The rapidshare links here seem to be dead. Does anyone know where they can be found?

By the way someone has put together a Spotify playlist of some of the featured tracks:

That's a great Spotify list. It's not immediately obvious but there are over 150 tracks in it!

I'm afraid none of the Full Shows have been re-upped so far. I'm sure we'll get around to it eventually. I don't think any of the uppers have fibre optic connections so it's very time consuming. I'm less than half way through doing the edited shows at the moment.

For what it's worth, most of the shows which we lost from Rapidshare are now linked via more permanent hosts now. There's a messy variety of 4Shared (which you can click to play or get to a download page) or archive.org (which you can right-click-download or just play in your browser).

I'll try to sort the odd holes soonest.

We would still love it if someone felt like slowing getting all of these files into Soundcloud and equally if there's anyone who could get all the full shows up (preferably without news and trails) we'd have an archive to be proud of.

I actually looked into Soundcloud last week and set up a Adam and Joe fans account. However it soon became clear that you would need to pay £99 a year for an 'Unlimited' account so I quickly lost interest.

Free: £0
upload 2 hours total

Pro: £3/month or £29/year
upload 4 hours total

Unlimited: £9/month or £99/year
upload unlimited sounds

https://soundcloud.com/pro

I wonder if we could persuade Adam to upload all of these to his own Soundcloud account? :)
Probably not but it's an idea...

ps. the embeds that Soundcloud offers in my opinion are by far the best looking out there for media players. Nice looking and you can also have comments enabled at any timestamp which would be cool for commenting on the shows (or highlighting good bits to skip to)

Unless I'm oblivious to some special technique, to upload all those shows onto Soundcloud would take a very long time, even if Adam's sorted out his broadband juju.

Since he's taking a break from BUG, I'd like to think it's because he has some other, time-consuming project to engage him so I doubt he'd be willing to upload them. He'll also feel compelled to re-title everything in capitals :D

I have a feeling its also something he'd probably not like to be seen to be doing. The odd Bowie Special is one thing but then entire ten year library might be a little uncomfortable. For people who didn't understand how sets/playlists worked, it might make his account look very lumbering. I think he's relying on fandom to keep them alive but perhaps he'll get around to something one day. :)

I agree... it probably wasn't a serious suggestion - I doubt Adam would want to do it. There's also the grey area of copyright (even with all the music stripped out).

When you talk about it taking a very long time to upload -- is this not different for people who have fast upload speeds? (or do you still get limited at the Soundcloud end?). I only have a 1Mb upload on my connection so uploading stuff like HD videos to YouTube takes ages.

Fair play to the people that have spent hundreds of hours capturing, organizing, titling and uploading stuff to the various sites. It must suck when one of the sites disappears. Archive.org is probably a stable home, but I wish they would make their embeds look nicer :)
